Our Purpose Statement

South Clinton Baptist Church youth ministry exists to reach non-believing students and to inspire believers to grow in their faith, discover their place in ministry, exalt God with their lives, and value one another.

DRIVE = Discover, Reach, Inspire, Value, Exalt

What We Believe About Teenagers

We believe teenagers are not only the leaders for tomorrow, but also a vital part of the church today. With that in mind, the youth staff are not here as baby-sitters or as chaperones until they graduate high school. We believe teenagers deserve more than that. They deserve shepherds, teachers, and mentors. Our goal is to provide just that. We are in the disciple-making process so teens will be mature members of the Body of Christ, not just mature Christian teenagers. The road to integrity and good character is a long one, and we are in it for the long haul.

What is DRIVE?

Ignite

Our Wednesday night youth worship service is the best place to get introduced to the youth ministry at South Clinton Baptist. Ignite is designed to provide a non-threatening worship atmosphere for new students and to provide a place for committed students to invite their un-churched friends.

Ignite is high-energy music, fun games and skits, and a relevant message that speaks to the issues facing teenagers in the world today. At Ignite we sing and jump around, laugh a lot, enjoy being together, and are challenged to live out our faith in a real way in our day-to-day lives.

Fuel (Sunday School)

On Sunday mornings, we dig deep into God's word using the LXVI Bible study, a in-depth exploration of all 66 (LXVI in Roman numerals) books of the Bible. The curriculum is a six-year program so that youth who begin during their 7th grade year will have the opportunity to study the entire Bible before they graduate from highschool. We spend a lot of time in discussion, learning how to take the truths of the Bible and make them applicable.

Engage

Engage is much smaller than our other programs and you have to sign up at the beginning of a semester in order to participate. Students involved in Engage commit to being present each week and meet in the Ignite room to learn how to use God's word and grow in their faith on an individual basis. We memorize Scripture, learn how to share our faith, tackle difficult questions and doubts, explore the Bible in a way that is both academic and personal, discover ways to serve others, and build each other up. This is for our more mature students and involves a commitment to the youth ministry.
